Remember that Dr. Conrad Murray documentary that was being shopped around to various news outlets like CNN and NBC after the convicted killer of Michael Jackson sold the story rights to a production company?

Well, it turns out his lawyer didn't think that was such a hot idea. In fact, defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan told sources it was a flat out "mistake" and never approved of it.

However, he says that the doctor really needed the money because "the judge back in January had basically forclosed Dr. Murray's ability to earn a living" after suspending his medical license.

Flanagan goes on to say that with no savings in store to deal with such an expensive trial, "the documentary did front some of the cost for his defense."

In the end, it was waste. If Murray had known he was going to get 4 years in the slammer for administering the drugs that led to the King of Pop's death, maybe he would have put it to better use and given it to his family.

You see, Moz is scheduled to play 3 LA area concerts in the coming days but I will not be able to attend any of them because I will be flying back east to Connecticut to spend Thanksgiving with David’s entire family. Fortunately, Moz scheduled a show 2 hours South of LA in Escondido, CA last night … and that was the show I got to see. Now, a 4 hour round trip drive prolly sounds like a lot but back in the day, I used to make the 4 hour drive EACH WAY from Detroit to Toronto AND Detroit to Chicago to see my fave bands in concert. Last night’s trek was nothing … and let me tell you, it was well worth the drive.

Everything just worked out PERFECTLY for me last night. The LA traffic was a nightmare and I feared that I would be late for the show but once I got to Anaheim, CA the traffic cleared and I was able to haul ass down the I-5. I arrived at the venue 15 mins before Moz took the stage, perfect. OH and let me tell you about my amazing seat … I somehow managed to get a ticket in Box 1 of the tiny theater (and I mean, TINY theater) so that basically put me in the best seat of the house. While front row is always best, I couldn’t find one thing bad about my box seat. I had my own little seating area — on a cushy love seat — and was able to watch and swoon over Moz without obstruction. As you can see above, the setlist was a perfect mix of old and new … and Smiths. Ouija Board was a nice surprise. Morrissey was in rare form last night … he was chatty and fun and he sounded fantastic. I have to say, last night’s shows was one of my fave Moz shows of all time. The small, intimate theater coupled with my perfect vantage point AND excellent setlist all conspired to make a magical evening. I even managed to score a guitar pick!

I had a blast … and I am so thankful that I got to see Morrissey on this new tour :)

Today, David and I fly back East to CT to spend time with his family before we head to NYC on Sunday for the following week. I’ll be coming atcha from the East side for the next week and half so … pray for me, it’s gonna be COLD, y’all. Have a great Wednesday and be safe out there tonight. The night before Thanksgiving is the biggest bar night of the year … have fun but BE SAFE!

Last night here in LA, actors Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto, Kellan Lutz, Mickey Rourke and others convented at the Nokia Theater for the Hollywood premiere of their new film Immortals. Based (loosely) on Greek myth, Immortals tells the tale of Theseus and the war between the Olympian gods and the fallen Titans. The film was directed by visionary director Tarsem Signh … which means the movie is, undoubtedly, a feast for the eyes. Click below to see some photos from the red carpet arrivals last night.

David and I were invited to last night’s premiere and we had the best time ever. The massive Nokia Theater was filled with celebs and fans … lots of fans, ensuring that the Immortals premiere was a really good time. I’ll post my review of the film a little later but I wanted to share these great red carpet photos. These gods blessed LA last night with a fun time. The movie, which opens in theaters this Friday (11/11/11) promises to do the same.

Yesterday was a different day for David and me. While most of it was a normal lazy Sunday for us, we were joined by a special little visitor for part of our late afternoon. Our dear friend Genevieve asked us to babysit her amazing baby girl Audrey for a couple of hours and we were thrilled to do it. Now, I have some babysitting experience under my belt but David has never cared for a child in his life. I am happy to report that he passed with flying colors ;)

Fortunately for us, Audrey is a dream to care for. She is the best baby ever. No crying, no fussiness … no diaper changes in our entire 2 hour babysitting stint — it was a dream! We had a great time with little Ms. Aud so, yeah, we had a great Sunday.

Our evening was a quiet one. David and I caught up with some TV and then passed out. Tonight, we are planning to go to the 3D premiere of Immortals so that should be lots of fun. Hope you’re having a great Monday!

Last night was a pretty quiet night for me. David and I got some things taken care of around the house and I was able to preview the next 3 new eps of Dexter so, yeah, it was a pretty sweet Monday night. Tomorrow I fly out to NYC for a few days so I need to get things prepped for the trip. I understand that I have to dig out my winter coats for the trip. Ugh. But for now, I have been enjoying my home, sweet, home.

It turns out that my newly expanded vinyl collection requires that I get more storage space so I spent my afternoon putting together my Expedit shelving unit from Ikea. Thankfully, it was an easy process this time. Once you put one of these things together, it gets pretty easy the next time. As for the new eps of Dexter, oh man, so good. You are NEVER going to guess who makes an appearance in an upcoming ep … my jaw damn near fell off my face! Dexter is so good this year, I am loving every second of it.

No plans for tonight … more prep for my trip. It’s rainy and gloomy here so, yeah, I guess LA wants to get me ready for NYC before I fly out tomorrow.
