A red band movie trailer for the US version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher and starring Rooney Mara & Daniel Craig, is currently showing in theaters in Europe but has yet to be released here in the US. Holy shizz … this film looks amazing. I know that fans of the original Swedish films may balk at a US version but, as I’ve said all along, David Fincher will do the films justice — I know it! With a soundtrack by Trent Reznor of NIN, it’s a can’t miss film! I love the original films and can recognize each and every scene featured in this new trailer … it looks good y’all. I don’t know how I’m gonna make it until Xmas to see this film but … yeah, I am excited!

Last night was the second to last Prince concert at The Forum in Inglewood, CA as his 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency comes to a close. I attended last night’s show with my good friend Josh and an AMAZING friend of his hooked us up with VIP tickets and aftershow passes. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige opened up for and performed with Prince during last night’s concert. Honestly, all of the Prince shows have been special … but this may be the most special of all.

Sadly, the security was really super tight all night long so I wasn’t able to take any photos AT ALL. Not one. But I can assure you, it was a magical night of music. Mary J. Blige KILLED her performance. That woman sings with her whole heart … it was such a treat to get to see her perform before Prince‘s set. During Prince‘s set, she came out to duet with him on Nothing Compares 2 U (with Maceo Parker on saxophone) and they gave the most stunning performance of that song that I have ever heard … period! The setlist was packed with hits … there wasn’t an empty seat in the entire arena … it was nothing but LOVE all night long. Here is the setlist from last night’s show:

Last night was the 20th show of the 21 Nite Stand … and Prince just keeps on bringing the HEAT! Josh and I had the best time ever!! After the show, we made our way to the Forum Club for the afterparty and waiting patiently in front of the set up stage in the hopes that Prince would play another set of music. DJ Rashida provided the amazing music and we ended up dancing the night away. Unfortch, Prince did not perform … but we did have a blast dancing with members of Prince‘s band to the best playlist of music ever! We had a late, late night … and tonight, I’m going back for one last time. Prince‘s 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles ends tonight … I can’t even wait to see how it will all end.

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good tickets so that is why we waited until the show nearly ends its run to see it. The show ends performances here in LA this weekend … but we managed to get really good seats for our show. In short, we both loved God of Carnage very much … and we were very surprised at how the drama unfolded on stage ;)

I think it’s best that I not spoil the parts of the show that surprised us the most … but I will tell you that the play is very funny and not at all really dramatic. The acting was superb by all of the players and the story is simple on the surface but fairly complex underneath. I knew the basic premise of the play before seeing the show last night but I was NOT at all expecting it to turn out the way it did. There were parts of the show that were so riotously funny, I almost fell out of my chair. There was another part that almost had me running for cover (we were in the front row). God of Carnage is a fantastic play … one I heartily recommend wholeheartedly. If you get the chance to see it with the original Broadway cast, you MUST! I’m sorry I missed seeing it on Broadway but am very happy that I got to experience the same Broadway magic, with the same players, right here at home in LA.

While there are a HOST of inventive and exciting movie roles available to young actresses these days, Megan Fox decided to take on the role of Lily the Bird Woman. Megan Fox is known as one of the most beautiful women in the world. So when she was picked to play an angelic Bird Woman in the film Passion Play, she certainly cut a heavenly figure. The actress went topless in the movie and brings her usual vamped up sensuality to the role. But even her toned body could not help the film, which has been universally panned. The former Transformers star plays sideshow attraction Lily the Bird Woman. Her wings have onlookers wondering if she is an angel from heaven or just a freak of nature. In the film she wears tiny white shorts and high heels with large wings sprouting from her back. She modestly covers her breasts with her hands in stills released from the movie. She teams up with Mickey Rourke who plays a trumpeter whose life changes when he meets Lily at a carnival. The film follows their romance as the two troubled souls fall for each other. Despite the near nudity and skimpy outfits, the movie did not get a cinema release and is going straight to DVD after a spate of poor reviews. ‘Awful’, a ‘mess’ and ‘an absolute car wreck’ have been used to describe the film. Even Rourke has slammed the film saying: ‘It’s so bad. In your career and all the movies you make, you’re going to make dozens of terrible ones’, he tried to explain.

LOL! Poor Megan. I would assume that the opportunity to play a bird woman sounded appealing at one point but, Lord Have Mercy, did no one tell her what a terrible idea it would turn out to be in actual practice. I really love Mickey Rourke … the man speaks the truth at all times. He’s usually not one to sugar coat anything. If he says the movie sucks, I have to take him at his word. Let’s hope that Megan Fox is able to nab a more successful role the next time around. I would hope the only place to go from playing a bird woman is up … maybe something less fowl next time?

Former Friends star Matthew Perry has released a statement announcing that he will be going away for a while in order to work on his addictions. Altho Perry‘s people insist that he has not suffered a relapse, they make clear that this month-long stint in rehab is part of his on-going recovery. You may know that Perry returned to TV recently in the ABC series Mr. Sunshine, so it’s possible that he is just making sure he stays clean so that he can return to the show when the new TV season starts up in the Fall.

Matthew Perry, who has struggled with prescription pills and alcohol in the past, is going back to a treatment facility as part of his ongoing recovery. The Friends star, 41, confirms the move in a statement that ends with a Chandler Bing-style dry quip. “I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery,” he says. “Please enjoy making fun of me on the World Wide Web.” Perry, who most recently appeared in Mr. Sunshine on ABC, was in rehab twice in 2001 and 1997. A source tells PEOPLE, “There was no relapse,” and that the actor plans to enter the facility shortly.

Making a joke in an announcement about rehab is a sure defense mechanism … but it also seems to imply that Matthew is trying to keep things as normal as possible by staying in control. Addiction is a lifelong battle and I wish him nothing but the greatest success. Here’s hoping his month away will foster his sobriety and afford him the fortitude to keep his addictions in check.

Vocal genius Whitney Houston is back in rehab, but at the moment no one seems to be clear on what is afflicting her. Stories about the new stint are fogging up the web with confusion. Allow me to clear it up. Poor Whitney. She has had a really rocky time in the last several years. Fans watched as she degraded from the greatest singer alive to a drug addicted domestic violence victim. It was hard to believe that things could turn South so quickly for her, especially after all of her success. Now, nearly two years after her lukewarm comeback, she has voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation program. Here in the US we have the Got Milk? campaign … in the UK, they call it the Make Mine Milk campaign. The campaigns to get kids to drink milk may have different names but they have the same goal and the same milk’stache gimmick. In new poster artwork released in the UK this month, Green Lantern (played by Ryan Reynolds) is rockin’ the milk’stache … which you can see below.

Hal Jordan is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. Hee hee … I kinda love the silliness of this campaign poster. Yes, the milk’stache looks funny on most people’s lips … but on Green Lantern, it’s just too much.
